Register a non-binding pledge to help us understand the level of community backing ahead of our formal share offer — launching Summer 2026.
A pledge is a non-binding expression of intent — it tells us how much you would consider investing when Semington CBS launches its formal community share offer in Summer 2026. Your pledge does not commit you to any payment now.
Pledge data is vitally important: it helps us demonstrate genuine community backing to property agents, legal advisors and grant bodies — and ensures our share offer is properly sized to meet demand.
Your pledge is non-binding. It costs you nothing today. When the formal share offer launches, you will receive full details including the Share Offer Document and Business Plan before making any financial commitment.
What are community shares? By investing in Semington CBS you become a co-owner of the Somerset Arms — with a vote at general meetings and a say in how the pub is run, permanently. Each £1 = one share. Minimum and maximum investment limits will be set in the Share Offer Document. Learn more about how CBS shares work →
The Somerset Arms is on the market and other buyers may emerge. Strong pledge figures demonstrate to the seller, solicitors and the community that Semington CBS has the financial backing to proceed — and increase the likelihood of our offer being taken seriously at the earliest stage.
Every pledge, however large or small, adds to the picture. Even £50 carries weight when multiplied across hundreds of supporters.
The Somerset Arms closed in 2023 when the owners, Wellington Pubright Company, were unable to find a new tenant. It was put up for sale at £395,000 plus VAT and remains on the market. This is the last chance for the community to stand together and take ownership.
"It is not only a central landmark but a crucial social hub — the beating heart of our village. It has been a valuable meeting place for everyone to enjoy, central to village fetes, festivals and the popular pub quiz. As the village expands, it is imperative to forge every opportunity to bring our community together. The Somerset Arms is central to this aim."
The village survey gave us a clear picture of what people want. The restored pub will be a welcoming place for everyone — built around community, not just commerce.
Your details will be stored securely in our Mailchimp database. No payment is taken. You will be contacted when the share offer launches.
